Insane Dreamcast Haul!Holy Moly, never did I expect to have such an amazing deal in 2025 nor did I expect to spend that much on a single listing on my local marketplace for videogames. I just picked up 49 Dreamcast games. Yes, you read that right, Forty-nine SEGA Dreamcast games. This is the storyI was having a week off from work and I wanted to clean the bathroom later that day. So I got started and I came to the point where I had to wait a bit because I had mopped the floor and it was still wet (and I didn't want any stains). While I was waiting I scrolled through my local marketplace app not looking for anything specific. but then... I saw the listing. The listing contained 49 Dreamcast games all in an amazing condition. The price? Well, there wasn't, it was up for auction. So I decided to test my luck and offered 500 bucks. Something that I normally would never do in the first place. I got a quick response and as expected, the seller turned down my offer. I made a new offer, 650 euros. Absolutely insane, but it was worth it (especially seeing what games there were). The seller, to my surprise, accepted my offer and I went to pick it up the same evening. I specifically asked for the evening because 1) I did not want to go alone to someones house, so I waited for my girlfriend to come home so we could go there. 2) I don't have/need a car so I couldn't possibly carry everything back home. It was also raining all day long, so we got our jackets on and got a crate with a garbage bag to protect the games from the rain and we started walking. I rang the doorbell and there was an older man opening the door. He welcomed us and even offered us a drink. I politely declined and he gave us permission to enter his house to the living room. Once I entered the livingroom, there was a clear tub with all of his Dreamcast stuff. I kid you not, this dude had everything:
At last, I gave him 650 euros, packed everything in and left. Once I was home I realised a few things. 1) Insane deal 2) Some games were in German. While I don't live very far from the German border, I do not speak German. I checked online what games did have English or Dutch and decided to keep most of the games but not all. So, what were the games? Here is a list:
So what's next?I'm planning to keep most of it. The seller was having a hard time selling his stuff and he was attached to his games. I'm not going to flip it because 1) It doesn't sit right with me, if someone is attached to his stuff. 2) Dreamcast games are awesome and I'm looking to expand my collection.Unfortunatly game 34 to 49 is to my knowledge in German ONLY, thus I cannot play it (my dreamcast does run it, but i cannot understand it) properly. I don't know what I will do those games yet but for now it stays in my collection. I have decided that I'm going to review my Dreamcast games in the "Review" section of my website. I don't know when, but I'll eventually get to it. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post. I'm super stoked to add these games to my collection! ~ Bill, 29 April 2025 |
